Hello from Lisbon on my birthday! (PART 2)
🎁Why Reflection Is the Key to Growth
Today is my birthday, and even though I promised myself I wouldn’t work, I felt compelled to sit down and write this. Birthdays have a way of making us reflect, and this year, I’m feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude for my community—you.
This reflection led me to revisit some lessons I’ve learned along the way, many of which have shaped how I approach my life, business, and relationships. These are lessons born out of challenges, healing, and redefining what success means to me.
6. When We Heal Ourselves, We Heal the World
Healing my relationship with my mother taught me that the most important work begins within. My mom didn’t have access to the resources or tools I did, but by working on myself, I was able to release anger and resentment. This created space for compassion, radically transforming our relationship.
This experience showed me that personal healing has a ripple effect. When we heal ourselves, we create more love, understanding, and light in the world around us.
7. It Can Feel RICH to Make Less Revenue
For years, I chased the "bigger is better" mentality, aiming for higher revenue and a larger team. When my revenue dipped this year and my team shrank, I felt like a failure. But simplifying my business allowed me to rediscover joy and alignment.
I learned that scaling back can create spaciousness, allowing me to serve my community at a higher level. Success isn’t just about revenue—it’s about peace, fulfillment, and building a business that reflects the energy you want to project into the world.
8. The More You Grow, the More You Say "No"
Growth isn’t about doing everything—it’s about focusing on what truly matters. This year, I learned to let go of FOMO and embrace the opportunities meant for me. Saying "no" has freed me to focus on the priorities that align with my vision.
9. It Was Never About the Software or Tools
I used to think that choosing the right software would solve all my business problems. Now, I focus on simplicity—providing value with the least friction. Tools can help, but they’re not the magic solution. Often, less is more.
10. Be Careful Who You Follow and Get Advice From
In the noisy world of online business, it’s easy to be drawn to the loudest voices. But true success isn’t about who has the most followers or boasts the biggest numbers. Look at their values, community, and impact. Talk is cheap, but integrity and alignment speak volumes.
Final Thoughts: Redefining Success on Your Terms
Birthdays remind us to reflect and celebrate growth, not just in business but in life. As I embrace this new year, I’m committed to doing less but better, creating space for what truly matters, and aligning my business with my values.
What does success mean to you? How are you redefining it in your life and business? I’d love to hear your story—drop a comment or reply to connect.
Here’s to building a life and business that feel authentically rich.
