Honoring the Seasons of Life and Business: A Journey of Intuition, Healing, and Transformation
There’s something magical about watching the trees shed their leaves, a quiet yet powerful reminder that everything in life has its season. I’m writing this from my friend’s house in upstate New York after a glorious 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep (F*CK YES!). With no alarm and the vibrant fall colors outside, I feel more rested and reflective than I have in ages.
As I sit here, I’m reminded of a conversation I had with Jereshia Hawk on a recent podcast episode. We talked about honoring the seasons in our lives and businesses—something nature does effortlessly but we often resist.
The Scarcity Mindset: My Biggest Roadblock
Growing up as the daughter of a widowed immigrant, I was surrounded by the narrative that worth is tied to work. Productivity wasn’t just encouraged—it was expected. I internalized the belief that the more I achieved, the more valuable I was.
This scarcity mindset drove me to overwork, even when my body and soul begged for rest. Two years ago, after open abdominal surgery to remove a fibroid the size of a baby’s head, I found myself delivering back-to-back webinars to over 1,000 people while still wearing bandages. The idea of slowing down felt terrifying—as if stopping for even a moment would make everything fall apart.
Surrendering to the Flow
Over the past few years, I’ve been on a profound journey of healing. Through psychedelic-assisted therapy and deep self-reflection, I’ve learned that true transformation doesn’t come from clenching tightly to control. It comes from letting go, trusting the process, and allowing space for growth to unfold naturally.
Recently, I’ve been reading Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. This book has been a guiding light on my journey to reconnect with my intuition and lean into my feminine energy. Estés reminds us of the power that comes from honoring our inner Wild Woman—the part of us that knows when to rest, when to act, and when to trust the cycles of life.
Ignoring Intuition: A Hard Lesson
Just a few weeks before my wedding this past May, I caught myself falling back into old patterns. I was rushing to launch my new website, convinced that everything had to happen immediately. But then my neighbor said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“Maybe you should just stop putting so much pressure on yourself and enjoy your wedding. This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment you won’t get back.”
Those words hit me hard. I realized I was letting outdated narratives control how I ran my business and measured my success. I was missing the beauty of the present moment because I was so focused on achieving the next goal.
Embracing the Rhythm of Life
Life, like nature, has its seasons. There’s a time for growth and a time for rest, and both are equally important. Yet, we’ve been conditioned to believe that rest is unproductive, that our worth is tied to how much we can do.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned through this journey, it’s that intuition is one of our greatest gifts. It’s that quiet voice inside that knows what we need, even when the world screams otherwise.
For me, reconnecting with my intuition has been life-changing. It’s allowed me to let go of the relentless drive for perfection and embrace a slower, more intentional pace. This shift has made space for deeper connections, richer experiences, and more meaningful work.
Building a Community Rooted in Connection
One of the most beautiful outcomes of this journey has been the community I’ve built through my PR program. It’s not just about getting media coverage—it’s about creating a safe space where small business owners can share their stories, feel seen, and step into their power without fear of judgment.
Witnessing the transformations within this community has been incredibly rewarding. Members have gone from doubting their worth to confidently promoting their businesses and landing features in top-tier publications. It’s a testament to what’s possible when we create spaces of support and belonging.
What Season Are You In?
As I welcome a slower Q4 without the frenzy of a major launch, I’m focusing on pouring fully into my community and creating meaningful experiences for my PR members. (Spoiler: I’m bringing in a TV presenter from Good Morning America and Today Show to coach our members!)
So, I want to ask you: What is your intuition telling you right now? What season are you in, and are you giving yourself permission to honor it fully?
Whether you’re in a season of growth, rest, reflection, or transition, know that it’s valid. Trust that your inner voice will guide you to what’s right for you.
Final Thoughts
If your body and soul are asking you to slow down, listen. The world around you will always push for more, but your intuition knows better.
Whatever season you’re in, embrace it fully. Life feels richer, fuller, and more meaningful when we move in alignment with our true selves, not someone else’s version of success.
With you on this journey,
Gloria
